Monitoring of student progress toward the Chemistry Minor and ultimate student certification for the Chemistry Minor are the responsiblity of the student's academic advisor and host academic unit.

The information below is provided by the Chemistry Team to assist students and advisors in this endeavour.
Catalog Statement of Requirements for a Minor in Chemistry
A minor in chemistry consists of Chemistry 250, 251, 252, 253, and 254 and eleven additional hours of chemistry, of which eight must be 300 - or 400-level.
SCENARIOS FOR SECURING THE CHEMISTRY MINOR
Biology Major seeking Chemistry Minor
Chem 100, 101, 102, 103, 104 (8 sem hr)
Chem 250, 251, 252, 253, 254 (8 sem hr)
Chem 351,352, 353, 354 (8 sem hr)
All Biology majors (except the Applied Track) take the above 24 sem hr to get their biology degree.
The shocking truth is that Biology majors get a chemistry minor whether they want it or not.
Chemical Engineering Major seeking Chemistry Minor
Chem 100, 101, 102, 103, 104 (8 sem hr)
Chem 250, 251, 252, 253 (7 sem hr)
Chem 311, 313 (4 sem hr)
Typically Chemical Engineering majors take the above 19 sem hr to get their Chemical Engineering degree.

The ChemEngr student would need to take CHEM 254 (Organic Lab II) as noted in the catalog statement.

Subsequently, 4 sem hr of 300/400 credit is needed in addition for a Chemistry Minor.
Here are three Senarios for a ChemEngr to get a chemistry minor:

ChemEngr Senario I:
The following could serve to secure the Chemistry Minor.

Chem 254 (1 sem hr)
Chem 312 (3 sem hr) ---offered Winter only.

Chem 314 (1 sem hr) ---offered Winter only.

ChemEngr Senario II:
The following could serve to secure the Chemistry Minor.

Chem 254 (1 sem hr)
Chem 466 (4 sem hr) ---offered Spring only.

(note:  Chem 466 has two labs sessions associated with it; the PChem II prereq would have to be waived also.)

ChemEngr Senario III:
The following could serve to secure the Chemistry Minor.

Chem 254 (1 sem hr)
Chem 351 (3 sem hr) ---offered Fall only.

Chem 353 (1 sem hr) ---offered Fall only.
